Nice write up there Patch...I only saw 5 minutes of the 1st...so zi was wondering how Lehner looked...the answer was in your words!
I'm glad you mentioned GMTM's perspective on Lehner's timeframe to build his game back....as I happen to agree and have expressed here that I'm giving him the balance of the season, yes 40 games to get it back to where it should be. With another offseason to build on, then I hope to see a starter quality from him next season!

Lehner sure looks big in net. I assume it'll be CJ in net tonight?

I'm with you on this, but many will want to justify the first round pick we gave away right now!!! dammit. (Even though the pick was used on a kid not even in the NHL yet).

The battle lasted late into the night, but the whiskey won last night.

Lehner has the ability .... if the Sens didn't have Hammond and especially O'Connor, loosing Lehner would have been way to hard - despite his struggles last season.

I see it as an all or nothing - either he will shine through eventually and become that #1 goalie or he'll be a back up that never stays with one team; don't see him as an average #1, he'll be really good if he directs his competitive nature

mark my words
, he'll have his day, I see him being a star of the week or month one day sooner than later

Really late, but thanks for the feedback Alfie. I think I'm with you on this one, despite my limited knowledge of Lehner.

None of the goalies seem to be succeeding there... their defense must be worse than ours.

Can't wait to see a retool this coming year.

I'd like to see more of Lenner, soon. I thought his game was pretty solid last night.

It must be that picture of Kim Kardashian popping champagne with the glass on her ass - didn't that break the Internet?

Spot on with this quote.....
"Perhaps Bylsma is happy teaching defense and two-way play while laying a foundation for the future. I get that and I'm on board with that. But they need to figure out how to get his star players some open ice and they need to fix the powerplay"
...as well as your opinion on puck posession.
I was thinking the same thing last night. Its great to have positive puck posession numbers, but you have to do something with it. Cycling it around the boards over and over and then passing it to the blueline and have it jump over the defencemans stick is getting old.
